Darrelle Revis Free Agent Summary
A few days prior to the 2013 NFL Draft, the Jets traded Revis, who was upset with his contract, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a first-round pick.
The team promptly signed him to a six-year, $96M deal that made Revis the highest-paid CB in the NFL. One year later, the Bucs released him after multiple failed trade attempts.
Mere hours later, New England signed Revis to a one-year, $12M contract with a team option for a second year at $20M, which essentially made it a one-year deal, allowing Revis to play for a championship then hit free agency again following the 2014 season.
During his lone season in NE, Revis posted 47 tackles, 2 INT, 14 PD, 1 FF, while also being selected to the Pro Bowl and as a first-team All-Pro. In the playoffs, Revis intercepted Andrew Luck in the “Deflategate” AFC Championship game and had a sack in Super Bowl 49.
New England didn’t pick up the option for the 2015 season. He signed a five-year, $70 contract with the to return to the Jets in 2015. He played there the previous two seasons before being released this March. He’s an unrestricted free agent.
